Extension Springs are designed to absorb and
store energy creating a resistance to a pulling
force. All coils are active in an extension
spring, and it is initial tension that hold
the coils tightly together.
Extension Spring ends include threaded inserts,
extended twist or cross loops, hooks or eyes
at varying distances from the spring body. Round
wire is most often used in the fabrication of
extension springs because it is most adaptable
to standard coiler tooling.
